Honasan, Trillanes allowed to personally file candidacy by Ashzel Hachero in Malaya:

THE Makati regional trial court yesterday granted the separate requests of former senator Gregorio Honasan and Magdalo leader Navy Lt. (s.g.) Antonio Trillanes IV that they be allowed to leave their detention cells to personally file their certificates of candidacy for senator at the Commission on Election main office in Intramuros.

In a one-page order, Makati RTC Branch 148 Judge Oscar Pimentel allowed Honasan to leave Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa,Hermes kelly, Laguna from 8:30 in the morning till noon of Feb. 7 under police escorts.

Pimentel gave Trillanes, who is detained at the Marines headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, between 8:30 a.m. until noon on February 6 to file his candidacy. He will be escorted by Marine custodians.

Pimentel overruled the opposition of the Department of Justice and the PNP which cited security concerns.

Pimentel said, “The PNP has enough personnel to secure Honasan and prevent his escape of flight.”

Assistant Chief State Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon said Honasan has a history of escaping.

He said Trillanes has been issuing incendiary statements.

Pimentel imposed restrictions on the two.

“They are hereby ordered to refrain from discussing the merits of their case with members of the press, avoid any form of premature campaigning and from issuing any form of seditious statements against the government,”,Wholesale Designer Handbags; said Pimentel.

In his petition, Honasan cited Comelec Resolution 7799 which says a candidate for a national position like the Senate must personally file his certificate of candidacy.

Daniel Gutierrez,Louis Vuitton Wallets, Honasan’s lawyer, said his client will run on a platform of good governance, environmental protection and reforms in the bureaucracy.
